Don't know where to begin with SEO'ing your website. Here's a short guide:
Start by building up a list of targeted search terms
that people might search for when looking for the products
or services you offer. These will be the keywords that
you will target.
Optimize the pages on your site for your keywords.
Add a descriptive page title and meta tags to your web
pages.
Place your targeted keywords in H1 headers.
Be sure to have your keywords well placed in your website
content.
Get quality backlinks which are relevant to your website.
Make the site easy to navigate - if you use buttons for
your navigation add text links at the bottom of the page
so that search engines can index all of your pages
Don't overstuff your page with keywords.
Use the title setting in your links. For example:
<a href="http://www.hooverwebdesign.com"
title="professional web design" target="_blank">Hoover
Web Design</a>
Use alt tags on all of your images For example:<img src="images/460x68_flashphtoogallery.gif" width="460" height="68" border="0" alt="Flash Photo Gallery"></a>
